Tiger Girls Win Top Awards and Prepare for Nationals

The Tiger Girls wrapped up two competitions recently, the Trendsetters Competition and the Crowd Pleasers 2017 Dance Competition, taking home several top awards. 

At the Trendsetters Competition, hosted at Klein Collins High School, the Tiger Girls won numerous awards in various categories, highlighting their hard work, artistry and technical skill. Together, the Tiger Girls won “Best in Class Large Team,” an “Excellence Award,” “Best in Category” in Jazz, Kick, and Military, “Outstanding Choreography” in Jazz, Kick and Military, a “Precision Award,” “Highest Point in Technical Merit,” and a “Super Sweepstakes” Award. As a team, the Tiger Girls performed exceptionally well, and are excited to compete at their next competition.

The Tiger Girl’s Elite Teams, Remix (Jazz and Kick) and Shock (Hip Hop and Pom) also performed at Trendsetters Competition, in preparation for their upcoming competition at the National Dance Alliance (NDA), in Florida. Tiger Girls Elite also won an “Excellence Award,” as well as an award for “Best in Class”. TG Elite won “Best in Category” and “Outstanding Choreography,” for all the dances they competed, including Pom, Hip Hop, Lyrical/Jazz, and Kick. TG Elite won a “Highest Point in Precision” award, an “Overall Highest Technique Score,” and an “Elite Super Sweepstakes” award. TG Elite will also compete at another upcoming competition to continue their extensive training for Nationals.

In addition to Tiger Girls, Remix and Shock, Tiger Girl’s Military and Social Officers competed dances. The Military Officers won “Best in Category” for their Contemporary Dance. The Social Officers placed “First Runner Up,” for their Novelty-Style Dance.

After an amazing performance at the Trendsetters Competition, the Tiger Girls competed at the Crowd Pleasers 2017 Dance Competition. The Tiger Girls performed several high-energy routines in various styles, such as, kick, jazz, hip hop, pom, and military.

As a team, the Tiger Girls received several awards for the dances they performed. The Tiger Girls received a Super Sweepstakes Award, which commended the high scores they received in each dance they competed, as well as a Precision, Technique and Choreography Award. The Tiger Girls also placed 1st Runner Up for their Team Kick and 2nd Runner up for their Team Military. The Tiger Girls placed 4th Runner Up Overall and were also awarded an Award of Excellence, which recognizes the academic achievements of the team.

TG Elite performed tremendously well at this past weekend’s competition. TG Elite performed four dances in the styles kick, lyrical, hip hop and pom. TG Elite also received a Super Sweepstakes Award and an Award for Precision, Technique, and Choreography. TG Elite won Best in Class for Kick, Best in Class of Hip Hop, Best in Class for Pom, and 1st Runner Up for Lyrical. TG Elite were the Grand Champions in the Elite Division.

Tiger Girl’s Military Officers also received a Superior Award for the dance that they competed.

The Tiger Girls enjoyed competing at Crowd Pleasers, and will begin preparing for their Spring Show soon. TG Elite is continuing to prepare for their upcoming trip to the National Dance Alliance in Orlando. St. Agnes will hold a sendoff for them at 7 a.m. March 1 in the competition gym here at SAA.
