A Note from Principal Deborah Whalen: Welcome our new faculty and staff!
I am thrilled to introduce the following new employees who will be joining the St. Agnes community,
Rob Mooring, college counselor: Rob is a graduate of Pepperdine University where he earned his BA in telecommunications, and where he also worked as an admissions counselor. Most recently, he has been the director of college counseling at YES Prep East End.
Melissa Hoover, math: Melissa has been around St. Agnes for a long time as the mother of three Academy women (Brittanie, Kimberly and Rebecca Polasek), and more recently as a substitute teacher. She worked at St. Michael Catholic School for most of her career as a math teacher, academic dean and dean of students.
Stephanie Faucette, English: Stephanie has just moved to Houston from Baton Rouge, LA, where she taught English at St. Joseph’s Academy for the past 5 years. She earned her BA in English from Louisiana State University. Stephanie also has a background in dance and will help Julie Chilton and Christy Holecek with the Tiger Girls.
Lindsay Jorlando, history: Lindsay just finished her MBA from Houston Baptist University. She has been working at Soccer Shots Houston as the Director of Coaching, but her first love is teaching history. She earned her undergraduate degree (BA in German Language and Literature; minor in history) from Eastern Michigan University. And yes, she is the sister of our own Ashley Jorlando. Lindsay will also be coaching soccer.
Tiffany Deinzer, PE/health: I have known Tiffany for several years since she was a teacher and coach at AOS where my children have gone to school. She earned her BA from the University of Maryland, where she also played field hockey. She will be teaching PE/health at St. Agnes, and also coaching both field hockey and lacrosse.
Sherri Perry, speech and assistant librarian: Sherri comes to us from St. Anne Catholic School where she has worn many hats, including dean of students. Her passion is speech and debate, and she will be working with Kate Wright and our award-winning students. In addition to teaching speech, Sherri will be the assistant librarian. Sherry earned her BS in Professional Writing from the University of Houston, and her MA in English from National University.
Sara Spittler, theology: Sara is joining us for the next two years as a theology teacher intern from the Echo Program at the University of Notre Dame. She is in the process of earning her master’s degree from Notre Dame, where she also earned her undergraduate degree in theology, peace studies and Italian.
Ariann Grant, test center coordinator: Ariann is the mother of Kathryn Grant, a rising senior at St. Agnes. Ariann will work with Lisa Crank overseeing the testing procedures in the academic services center.
Katie Coppedge, donor services coordinator: Katie has already been on board for a few weeks working in the advancement office. She has held several different jobs over the past few years, including a stint at St. Laurence Catholic Church in Sugar Land.
Lynne Sutter, theology: Lynne is working on her masters in pastoral studies at the University of St. Thomas, where she also earned her BA in theology years ago. She is yet another mother of a current St. Agnes student – rising sophomore Sophie, and of graduate Isabel.
