Independent School Entrance Exam
All applicants are required to submit scores from the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) in order to be considered for admission. St. Agnes administers the ISEE on November 12, 2016 but students may take it at any location prior to February 1, 2017. The ISEE is a three-hour admission test that consists of three parts:
- Carefully constructed and standardized verbal and quantitative ability tests that measure your capability for learning.
- Reading comprehension and mathematics achievement tests that provide specific information about your strengths and weakness in those areas.
- An essay section.
The ISEE evaluates not only your level of reading, but also your ability to comprehend material drawn from both the sciences and social studies. The test preparation book What to Expect on the ISEE is available free online here.
Registering for the ISEE
The ISEE will be administered at St. Agnes Academy on Saturday, November 12, 2016. You must register by October 22, 2016, in order to test at St. Agnes on that date. Availability is limited, so registering well in advance of the deadline is recommended. Students can take the ISEE at another location, but should take it no later than February 1, 2017. You may register for the ISEE in one of four ways: online at www.iseetest.org, by phone at 1-800-446-0320, or by mail or fax using the registration form found in the ISEE Student Guide in your admissions packet. The St. Agnes Academy school code is 443420.
The St. Agnes Merit Scholarship is awarded to five incoming ninth graders who achieve the five highest scores. Winners are notified in March by a letter signed by the head of school. These students receive an $12,000 scholarship which will be distributed over four years provided the student retains a grade-point average of at least a 4.0. Students on financial aid can receive the scholarship in addition to their financial aid grant.
Fee waivers for the ISEE are available through the St. Agnes Academy Office of Admission for those students in need of assistance with the testing fee. Please contact the Office of Admission no later than October15, 2016, for more information regarding the fee waiver.
