The winner is chosen based upon excellence in music, scholarship and character, and an essay titled "The Importance of Music."
To be eligible, students must be a graduating senior from a Texas private school who is entering an accredited college or university in the fall, 2014, taking a minimum of 12 college hours and has been a member of a TPSMEA All State Ensemble for at least one year during his/her high school career. They must also have declared music as a major.
Madeline Garvis was also a Tommy Tune award winner last year for her role as Paulette in Legally Blonde. For this year’s spring musical at St. Agnes Academy, Madeline has the lead role in Mame.
